The Paris IB landscape
Paris is one of Europe's deeper IB markets. International School of Paris is the dedicated IB anchor; ASP and EIB run IB alongside other pathways. Several British and American foundation schools added IB Diploma over the past decade. Cohort sizes are generally larger than Lisbon or Madrid IB cohorts.
The 2026 top 6 IB schools in Paris
International School of Paris (ISP)
The dedicated IB-only international school in Paris. Three-year average around 37 points. Full continuum from PYP. Smaller cohort sizes than the larger international schools but high-quality university counselling. Strong destinations across UK, US, France and beyond.
American School of Paris (ASP)
Premier American international school in Paris. Both AP and IB Diploma pathways. Strong sixth-form across all pathways. Particularly suited to American families wanting US-style high school with IB option for global portability. Strong destinations across the US and worldwide.
EIB Etoile / EIB Monceau
Bilingual international schools with IB Diploma sixth-form. Strong French-English balance. Cohort skews bilingual French families and globally-mobile bilingual families. Strong destinations across France, UK, US.
Marymount International School Paris
American Catholic-foundation school with IB Diploma alongside AP. Smaller scale than ASP. Strong family community. Particularly suited to families aligned with Catholic-foundation education seeking IB optionality.
British School of Paris (BSP)
British heritage school running IB alongside A-Level. Most students take A-Level; IB cohort is smaller but well-staffed. Worth considering for British-curriculum families wanting IB optionality.
Lycee International (Saint-Germain-en-Laye)
Not strictly an IB school but the strongest near-free academic option in greater Paris for international families. Bilingual sections in 13 languages within a French state lycee. Strong outcomes leading to the French baccalaureate (highly portable internationally). The single best value education option in Paris for families with longer time horizons.
What didn't make the list
Several Paris schools offer IB Diploma but with cohort averages below 32 or insufficient outcomes data. Smaller bilingual privados continue to add IB pathways; we will revisit annually.
IB vs. French baccalaureate
The French baccalaureate is highly portable internationally. French universities, German universities, Dutch universities, Spanish universities, US universities and an increasing number of UK universities all recognise it. For families committed to longer-term Paris residency and willing to develop strong French in their children, the lycee international option delivers comparable academic rigour at fees a fraction of IB-only schools. See our French curriculum guide for detail.
Fee context
IB Diploma at the top Paris international schools costs EUR 32,000-38,000 per year. EIB and Marymount sit at EUR 25,000-32,000. Lycee international fees are EUR 1,500-4,500 (international section participation only). See our full Paris school fees report for the broader picture.
