1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using GlobalSchoolGuide ("the site", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and GlobalSchoolGuide. We may update them as described in section 11.

2. Editorial nature of the site

GlobalSchoolGuide is an independent editorial publication providing information, opinion and reviews about international schools. We are not:

• A school search agency. We do not place students in schools.
• An admissions broker. We do not negotiate fees, scholarships, or admissions outcomes on your behalf.
• A licensed financial, legal, immigration, or relocation advisor. Content about fees, taxes, visas, and contracts is general guidance, not professional advice for your specific circumstances.
• An education regulator. Our editorial views about schools are journalistic, not regulatory.

Where we recommend taking professional advice, we mean it. Independent legal, financial and immigration counsel can save families orders of magnitude more than they cost.

3. Permitted use

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. researching schools for your family, downloading guides, subscribing to our newsletter, submitting reviews, and contacting schools that have enquiry forms. You may share links to our pages freely.

You may not:

• Scrape, crawl or otherwise systematically extract content from the site without our prior written permission. (Search engine indexing crawlers operating in line with our robots.txt are welcomed.)
• Republish, sell, sublicense or commercially exploit our content without a licence.
• Use the site to compile lead lists, training corpora, or competitive databases.
• Submit fraudulent reviews, impersonate other parents, or astroturf on behalf of a school.
• Interfere with the site's operation (denial-of-service, exploitation of vulnerabilities, etc.).
• Use the site to send unsolicited communications to schools, parents or our staff.

4. User submissions and reviews

If you submit a parent review, comment, message via the contact form, or any other content to us ("User Content"):

1. You retain ownership of your User Content.
2. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to publish, distribute, edit for clarity (without changing meaning), translate, and quote your User Content in connection with the site, our newsletter, and any associated editorial.
3. You warrant that your User Content is your own (or you have rights to it), is truthful and based on your genuine experience, does not defame any individual or organisation, does not identify any minor by name or image, and does not violate any applicable law.
4. We reserve the right to edit, redact or remove any User Content that we believe to be defamatory, fraudulent, abusive, off-topic, or in breach of these terms. at our sole editorial discretion.
5. If we publish your review, we will display the name (or pseudonym) you provided. We will not publish your email or other contact details.

5. Intellectual property

All editorial content on the site. articles, rankings, reviews-as-curated, comparison data, design system, photography we commission, and software. is owned by GlobalSchoolGuide or our licensors and is protected by copyright, database-right, and other intellectual property laws.

You may quote short extracts (under 100 words) for personal or journalistic purposes with attribution and a link back. For longer quotation, syndication, or commercial use, please contact us for permission.

Trademarks of schools and third parties referenced on the site (e.g. "International Baccalaureate", "Cambridge International") remain the property of their respective owners and are used here for identification and editorial commentary purposes only.

6. Third-party links and partners

The site contains links to third-party websites. schools, governments, banks, insurers, relocation services. We do not control these third parties, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link is not an endorsement of every aspect of the destination site.

Some links on the site are affiliate links. when you sign up or transact via these links, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial rankings or reviews. See our Relocate Hub for full disclosure.

If you transact with a third party (e.g. open a bank account, buy insurance, sign a lease), your relationship is with that third party. Their terms and privacy policies apply, not ours. We are not a party to that contract and have no liability for its performance.

7. Disclaimers

Information is provided "as is". We work hard to keep our content accurate, but international school information changes constantly. fees rise, principals change, accreditations move, visa rules shift. We don't warrant that every fact on the site is currently correct, complete, or up-to-date. Always verify material details directly with the school and with relevant official authorities before making decisions.

Editorial opinions are opinions. Our rankings, "best for" recommendations and curriculum comparisons are journalistic judgements informed by research. Reasonable observers can disagree. They are not statements of objective fact about any specific school.

Reviews reflect individual experiences. Parent reviews are the views of individual parents at a specific moment. They are not statements about the school's overall quality, current state, or how your child will experience it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• GlobalSchoolGuide, its operators, contributors and processors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from your use of the site or content. including without limitation lost opportunities, school placement outcomes, financial losses, or relocation costs.
• Our aggregate liability to you for any direct loss, however caused, is limited to USD 100. or the amount you have actually paid us in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by applicable law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GlobalSchoolGuide, its operators, contributors and processors from any claim, demand, loss or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your breach of these terms, or your misuse of the site. to the extent caused by you and not by us.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms or are using the site in a way that harms other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the site at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves or as the law changes. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. Nothing in this clause prevents consumers from bringing a claim in the courts of their country of habitual residence where required by mandatory consumer-protection law.

If anything here is unclear or seems unreasonable, please tell us. We'd rather amend a clause that doesn't make sense than have it sitting on the page unread.
