For the full picture of senior provision, start with our international schools in Geneva directory, which lists every school by curriculum and stage. Geneva has an unusually deep sixth form market because it is the home of the IB: the International School of Geneva helped create the Diploma, and the city now offers it alongside A-levels and the Swiss and French national routes. The schools below all run an examined final two years that leads directly to university entry, and they admit by application rather than by catchment. This is a shortlist to research, not a ranking, and provision changes, so confirm current pathways with each school.
If you are weighing the qualification itself, our guides to A-levels and the International Baccalaureate explain how each is examined and recognised by universities. Families thinking about support needs in the senior years should also read our shortlist of the best schools for special educational needs in Geneva.
The shortlist
International School of Geneva (Ecolint)
The International School of Geneva, widely known as Ecolint, is the oldest international school in the world and one of the founding schools of the International Baccalaureate. It runs the IB Diploma across its three campuses at La Grande Boissiere, La Chataigneraie and Campus des Nations, with the breadth and subject choice that come from a large, long established institution. For families who want the Diploma at the school where it was born, Ecolint is the natural first entry on any Geneva sixth form shortlist.
College du Leman
College du Leman in Versoix is one of the largest international schools in Switzerland and offers an unusually wide set of senior pathways in a single institution: the IB Diploma and the IB Career-related Programme, A-levels, the American High School Diploma, the French Baccalaureat and the Swiss Maturite. That range lets a family choose the leaving qualification that fits the child and their target universities rather than the one the school happens to teach, and it adds boarding for students who need it.
British School of Geneva
The British School of Geneva teaches the English national curriculum through to IGCSE, then lets sixth formers continue to either the IB Diploma or A-levels. That split at the top is a useful option for UK-linked families and for students who will return to the British university system, because it keeps the A-level route open inside an English medium school in the city.
Institut Florimont
Institut Florimont in Petit-Lancy is a long established Geneva school offering francophone and bilingual pathways, with the IB Diploma available at sixth form alongside the Swiss Maturite and the French Baccalaureat. It suits families who want a strong French language environment with the option of the international Diploma at the end, rather than an English medium school alone.
How we chose
We included only Geneva schools we could confirm run a genuine, externally examined senior pathway leading to university entry, the IB Diploma, A-levels, the Swiss Maturite or the French Baccalaureat, and that enrol students through to the end of secondary. We did not rank them, score them or attach ratings, because the right sixth form depends on your child's subjects, the qualification universities in your target country prefer, and the fit of the school. Verify current subject lists and pathways directly, as schools add and retire options year to year.

Sixth form fees in Geneva sit at the upper end of each school's fee schedule, and the senior years are typically the most expensive, with boarding adding a further charge at the schools that offer it. Rather than quote figures that move each year, we keep the live bands in one place: see our guide to international school fees in Geneva for current tuition by school and stage, and confirm the exact sixth form figure, plus any examination and registration costs, with the school before you apply.

Common questions
The International School of Geneva (Ecolint), College du Leman, Institut Florimont and the British School of Geneva all offer the IB Diploma in the final two years. Ecolint was one of the founding schools of the IB, so the Diploma has deep roots in the city. Confirm the current subject list with each school, as offerings change year to year.
The British School of Geneva offers A-levels at sixth form for families on the UK pathway, and College du Leman offers A-levels alongside the IB Diploma and other routes. Several schools that teach IGCSE lower down then split into IB or A-levels at the top, so check the exact subjects with each school.
Neither is universally better. The IB Diploma is broad, with six subjects plus the core, while A-levels let a student specialise in three or four. Universities in different countries express preferences in their entry requirements, so the better choice depends on your child's strengths and target universities. Our curriculum guides compare both in detail.
Yes. Several Geneva schools, including College du Leman and Institut Florimont, offer national pathways such as the Swiss Maturite and the French Baccalaureat alongside the IB Diploma, which suits families staying within the Swiss or French systems. Confirm which pathways each school runs in the current year.
Sixth form sits at the top of each school's fee scale and is usually the most expensive stage. Figures change annually, so we maintain current tuition by school and stage in our international school fees in Geneva guide rather than quote a number that dates quickly.
