Overview

The Lagos school landscape

The flagship is American International School of Lagos (AISL), a non-profit US-curriculum school founded in 1964 and the heritage school for Lagos's diplomatic and corporate communities. British International School Lagos (BIS Lagos) is the BSO-accredited British flagship in Lekki. Grange School is the heritage British preparatory school. Lekki British International School, Children's International School, Avi-Cenna International, and Greensprings School serve the wider international community.

Most Nigerian elite families and expats choose either Lekki or Ikoyi neighbourhoods. Schools quote fees in Naira but most accept USD payment from international families to hedge against currency volatility.

Ikoyi vs Lekki for family relocation?

Ikoyi is the heritage expat zone (close to AISL). Lekki is the modern gated-community zone (close to BIS Lagos and Lekki British). Our guide compares both head-to-head.
