Overview

The Rome school landscape

Rome's flagship is American Overseas School of Rome (AOSR), founded in 1947 and the heritage US-curriculum school for FAO/UN/diplomatic families. St Stephen's School Rome is one of Europe's few boarding IB schools. St George's British International School serves the British community. Rome International School, Marymount International School Rome, New School Rome, and Lycée Chateaubriand round out the top tier.

Italy's free public schools (in Italian) are competent and most expat children integrate easily once Italian is acquired. Rome's international school fees are notably more moderate than London or Paris.
