The United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) is an independent international school in Singapore and one of 18 schools in the United World College movement. Founded in 1971 as the Singapore International School and renamed in 1975 when it joined the UWC movement, it now teaches several thousand students across two campuses, Dover in the south west and East in Tampines. Its programme leads to IGCSE and then the IB Diploma, and on fees it sits firmly in the premium tier.

Curriculum and academics
UWCSEA does not simply adopt an off the shelf syllabus. It runs its own concept based learning programme built around five linked strands: academics, activities, outdoor education, personal and social education, and service. In the senior years that programme leads to IGCSE in Grade 10 and then the two year IB Diploma in Grades 11 and 12, the qualification both campuses are authorised to deliver as IB World Schools.
The college is known for the breadth of its co academic offer and for a service ethic that runs through the whole school, in keeping with the UWC mission of using education to bring together students from many nations and backgrounds. The sixth form is geared toward selective university entry worldwide, and the UWC scholarship programme brings in students on financial support to keep the community diverse. Budgeting the full cost of a place?
Our fee calculator adds registration, deposits, capital levies and transport to the headline tuition so you see the real annual cost before you apply.
UWCSEA fees
UWCSEA is a premium tier school. Our Singapore international school fees guide places the premium band at roughly SGD 48,000 to 65,000 a year, with tuition stepping up through the school and the IB Diploma years at the higher end. It is one of the larger and more sought after options in the city, priced in line with the other established premium internationals.
Beyond tuition, budget for the usual additional costs: a non refundable application fee, a refundable deposit, and optional bus and lunch charges. Because premium tuition tends to rise ahead of general inflation, model several years ahead rather than the first year alone with our fee calculator.
Admissions
The academic year runs from August, and the main intake aligns with it, with some rolling entry where places exist. UWCSEA is heavily oversubscribed at many year groups across both campuses, so early application matters and waiting lists are common. Admission considers school reports, an age appropriate assessment and, for older students, prior study and subject choices.
Entry into the IB Diploma in Grade 11 is the most competitive point and depends on prior attainment. Families usually apply to a specific campus, so check current availability for your child's age at Dover or East before committing.
Location and who goes there
The Dover campus sits off Dover Road in the south west of Singapore and has operated since 1971, while the East campus opened in Tampines in 2008 to serve the growing expatriate communities on the eastern side of the island. Each is a full through school, so the practical choice for most families comes down to commute and availability rather than programme. Both run extensive bus networks that widen the catchment well beyond the immediate neighbourhood.
The community is large and internationally mixed, with families drawn from across the professional expatriate population as well as Singaporean and permanent resident households. UWCSEA reviews
We do not yet hold any verified parent reviews for UWCSEA. GlobalSchoolGuide is an independent guide and no school pays to be listed, so we publish a rating only once we have collected enough verified first hand accounts to be fair to both the school and to the families reading them. We would rather show nothing than show an invented score.
If your family has attended either campus we would value your account of admissions, teaching, pastoral care and value for money. Share it through our school reviews hub and we will add verified contributions to this page.
