The Auckland school context

Auckland's school market is structured around three credentials: NCEA (the New Zealand qualification, dominant), Cambridge International (offered alongside NCEA at top schools), and IB Diploma (offered at a smaller cluster). Most expat families on long-term postings choose between elite independent schools and high-decile state schools. The school year runs late January to early December.
