The Sydney school context

Sydney's school market is structurally different from most international school markets we cover. Most expat families choose Australian independent schools rather than dedicated international schools, because Sydney's independents combine HSC (the New South Wales secondary qualification) with optional IB pathways at competitive fees. The dedicated international schools (e.g. International Grammar) serve a smaller niche. The school year runs late January to early December, materially different from northern hemisphere cycles.
