The Kuala Lumpur school landscape
Kuala Lumpur has Asia's most affordable premium international school market. Malaysia's MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) visa programme makes the city particularly attractive for retired families, remote workers, and families looking to base their children in an English-speaking IB or British school without Singapore-level fees.
The flagship schools are Alice Smith (British), Garden International (British/IB), ISKL (American/IB), Mont'Kiara International (American), and Nexus International (IB). Below them sit dozens of strong mid-tier schools at $5,000 to $12,000 per year that are popular with Malaysian families and budget-conscious expats.
