The Seoul school landscape
Seoul's flagship international school is Seoul Foreign School (SFS), founded in 1912, which serves families from over 50 countries with both IB and American pathways. Korea International School (KIS), Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS), and Dwight School Seoul round out the top tier. Outside Seoul itself, the Jeju Global Education City hosts NLCS Jeju, Branksome Hall Asia and Korea International School Jeju.
Korean Ministry of Education regulations require many international schools to verify eligibility before admitting Korean nationals. F-visa holders, dual passport holders and children with 3+ years overseas schooling typically qualify. Foreign passport holders are admitted without these requirements.
