The Riyadh school landscape
The flagship is King Faisal School (KFS), founded in 1990 and the heritage Saudi-international school for elite Saudi and expat families. American International School Riyadh (AISR) serves the US-curriculum community, with British International School Riyadh (BISR) as the BSO-accredited British flagship. Multinational School Riyadh and Riyadh Schools are large bilingual options. Saudi Aramco Schools (Dhahran) in the Eastern Province serve oil-sector families with full US curriculum on the Aramco compound.
Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 has driven dramatic expat growth and new school openings since 2020. NEOM, Riyadh's downtown developments, and increased tourism have all attracted international families on premium expat packages with $30K-$45K education allowances per child.
